On June 29, 2024, Lori will moderate Coffee with Composers, interviewing Jodi Goble, the 2024 winner of the NATS Art Song Composition Contest. Later in the day, Lori and Laura Schwendinger will participate in “The Composer and Singer Relationship: A Town Hall to Demystify Creating New Art Song,” moderated by André Chiang.
On June 30, Lori will introduce the 2023 and 2024 NATS Art Song Composition Contest winners — René Orth (2023) and Jodi Goble (2024). A concert of the winning works will follow, featuring soprano Emily Albrink and pianist Kathleen Kelly performing Orth’s Weave Me A Name and Shelby Van Nordstrand and Jodi Goble performing Jodi’s Sea Creatures.
On July 1, 2024, Lori and colleague Tom Cipullo are to receive the 2024 American Academy of Teachers of Singing Award in recognition of their mentorship and support of art song composers.
