My very first recording was on Lauren Wagner’s American Song Recital, released on Channel Classics in 1993. The first review came out in Dutch. I could only read my name and the word “prachtig” — and this was in the days before Google Translate. I finally found a friend to translate — and was relieved to learn that “prachtig” meant “beautiful.”
