Music of Remembrance, under Mina Miller’s artistic direction, has commissioned a new song cycle from Lori — “In Sleep The World Is Yours.” The cycle sets three poems of Selma Meerbaum-Eisinger, a gifted young girl who perished at the age of 18 in a Nazi labor camp. The songs are scored for soprano, oboe and piano, and will premiere on May 12, 2014 at at 7:30 pm at Benaroya Hall in Seattle, WA with Megan Chenovick, soprano; Ben Hausmann, oboe and Mina Miller, piano. Other premieres include a revised version of Lori’s “Todesfuge” in English, with Erich Parce, baritone and Walter Gray, cello, as well as Alicia Svigals’ expanded film score for “The Yellow Ticket” with Laura DeLuca, clarinet; Alicia Svigals, violin and Marilyn Lerner, piano.
