On February 9, 2025 at 5 pm, The Ukrainian Institute in NYC (2 E. 79th Street) will present Elegies and Memories. The concert will present music that explores loss and remembrance — and will include my 2002 song cycle Long Pond Revisited (5 songs that set the poetry of the late Maine poet CGR Shepard), performed by baritone Randall Scarlata and cellist Marcy Rosen, who premiered the work at the Kennedy Center’s Terrace Theater in 2002 and later recorded it. The concert also will feature works by Alla Zahaykevych, Anna Kuzina-Rozhdestvenska, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Katherine Needleman.
